Discovery Journey
Your intimate journey is unique, and BeMoreKinky should reflect that from the very first moment. The Discovery Journey is a thoughtful, interactive experience that learns who you are, what you're curious about, and how you want to explore. In just a few minutes, you'll set the foundation for an app experience tailored specifically to you: activities that match your interests, content that respects your boundaries, and recommendations that actually resonate. This isn't generic onboarding. It's the beginning of your personalized path to deeper intimacy.
What is the Discovery Journey?
The Discovery Journey is the short set of questions you answer while setting up the app. The app introduces it as "A few questions about you." It asks about:
- Your relationship status
- The gendered terms you prefer, for you and for your partner
- How you see yourself in intimate situations
- How adventurous you feel right now
Answering results in better activity recommendations and a more tailored experience.
When You Take It
The questions come during setup, after the age check and the disclaimer. Tap Skip on the intro screen to skip the questions and open the full library.
Journey Questions
1. Relationship Status
Question: "What's your relationship status?"
Options:
- Solo - Exploring on my own
- In a partnership - I have a partner
- Multiple partners - Polyamorous or multiple partners
2. Your Terms
Question: "Many activities use gendered terms. What do you prefer?"
Options:
- Feminine - Terms like princess, goddess, queen
- Masculine - Terms like sir, king, master
- Both - Show me everything
- Neutral - Skip gendered language
This changes language only, not which activities you can explore.
3. Your Partner's Terms
Question: "What about your partner?"
The same four options, for how the app refers to your partner. If you answered Solo, this question is skipped.
4. Role
Question: "How do you see yourself in intimate situations?"
The option names follow your answer to question 2. With neutral terms they are:
- Taking the lead - I prefer taking control and guiding experiences
- Being guided - I prefer being guided and following instructions
- Both roles - I enjoy both roles equally
- Still exploring - I'm still exploring and haven't settled on a preference
With masculine or feminine terms, the same four choices use Dom-leaning or Domme-leaning, Sub-leaning, Switch / both, and Undecided.
5. Adventure
Question: "How adventurous do you feel right now?"
Options:
- New to this - We'll start your recommendations gentle.
- Exploring - We'll mix familiar ground with a few new ideas.
- Comfortable - We'll put more adventurous activities in your recommendations.
- Very adventurous - We'll open the more intense end of the catalog first.
Pick one and tap Continue.

- Suggested Activities - Activities that match your preferences

- Getting Started Guide - Next steps personalized to you
Changing Your Answers
Go to Profile > Personalization > Gender preferences to change the terms used for you and for your partner, and your dynamic. There is no way to retake the whole Journey, and your relationship status and adventure answers can't be changed after setup.

Q: Can I use the app without completing the Discovery Journey?
A: Yes. Tap Skip on the intro screen and the app opens the full library. Answering the questions gives you more personal recommendations.
Q: Will my partner see my Discovery Journey answers?
A: No. Your partner doesn't see your Journey answers. They see the activities you rate Yes or Maybe, and your results for quizzes you have both finished.
Q: What if I don't know my role preference yet?
A: Choose Still exploring (or Undecided, depending on your terms). You can change your dynamic later in Profile > Personalization > Gender preferences.
Q: Do I have to answer honestly?
A: It's entirely up to you, but honest answers result in better personalization. There's no judgment. The Journey is for your benefit.
Q: How long does the Discovery Journey take?
A: Most users complete it in 2-3 minutes. You can take longer if you want to think about each question.
Q: What if my preferences change over time?
A: That's completely normal! Update your terms and your dynamic in Profile > Personalization > Gender preferences whenever they evolve.
Q: Is the Discovery Journey different from the quizzes?
A: Yes. The Discovery Journey is a one-time onboarding that sets up your profile. Quizzes are ongoing assessments you can take repeatedly for deeper self-discovery.
Troubleshooting
Journey Not Loading
- Check your internet connection
- Close and reopen the app
- Ensure you're on the latest app version
- Tap Skip to continue without it
Can't Find Journey After Skipping
The Journey can't be reopened after setup. You can still change your terms and your dynamic in Profile > Personalization > Gender preferences.
Answers Not Saving
- Complete the entire Journey (don't close mid-way)
- Ensure stable internet connection
- Wait for the completion confirmation
- Check Profile > Personalization > Gender preferences to verify they're set
