Managing Notifications

Notification Settings

Control which notifications you receive:

  1. Go to Profile > Notifications
  2. Toggle categories on/off:
    • Partner updates
    • Proposals
    • Tasks & Reminders
    • Quizzes
    • Content updates
    • Contest & Promotions
  3. Changes save automatically

Per-Category Control

Each category can be individually enabled or disabled, giving you fine-grained control over what interrupts you.

Quiet Hours

Set times when notifications are silenced:

  1. Go to Profile > Notifications > Quiet Hours
  2. Enable quiet hours
  3. Set start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
  4. Set end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
  5. Notifications are held until quiet hours end

Critical Notifications

Some notifications can bypass quiet hours:

  • Contest winner announcements
  • Security alerts
  • Account issues

Configure bypass settings in Quiet Hours > Allow Critical.

Notification Permissions

Granting Permission

When first using the app:

  1. You'll be prompted to allow notifications
  2. Tap Allow to receive notifications
  3. If denied, you can enable later in device settings

If you initially denied notifications:

  1. Open device Settings
  2. Scroll to BeMoreKinky
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Enable Allow Notifications

Android:

  1. Open device Settings

Deep Linking

What Are Deep Links?

Deep links are special URLs that open specific screens in the app. When you tap a notification, it uses deep linking to take you directly to the relevant content.

How Deep Links Work

  1. You receive a notification
  2. Tap the notification
  3. App opens to the specific content (not just the home screen)
  4. View the relevant proposal, quiz, task, etc.

Tapping Notifications

When you tap a notification:

  • App opens (if closed)
  • Navigates to relevant screen

Missed notifications can be found:

  • In your device's notification center
  • Until you dismiss them

How Shared Links Work

When someone opens your shared link:

  1. If they have the app, it opens directly
  2. If not, they're directed to download first
  3. After install, the link still works
  4. They're taken to the shared content

Q: Why am I not receiving notifications?

A: Check:

  1. In-app notification settings (all enabled?)
  2. Device notification permissions
  3. Do Not Disturb / quiet hours
  4. Battery optimization settings (Android)
  5. Background app refresh (iOS)

Q: Can I get notifications on multiple devices?

A: Yes. Notifications are sent to all devices where you're logged in with notifications enabled.

Q: Why did a notification disappear before I could read it?

A: Notifications can be replaced by newer ones or expire. The underlying content is usually still accessible in the app.

Q: Can my partner see my notification settings?

A: No. Your notification preferences are private.

Q: Do notifications use data?

A: Minimal. Notifications are small and don't consume significant data. However, opening them and loading content does use data.

Q: Why do some notifications open to the wrong screen?

A: This can happen if:

  • App needs updating
  • Content was deleted
  • Network issues during navigation
  • Try tapping the notification again or navigate manually

Q: Can I customize notification sounds?

A: This depends on your device:

  • iOS: Limited to system notification sounds
  • Android: Can customize in device notification settings

Troubleshooting

No Notifications Received

  1. Check in-app settings:

    • Profile > Notifications
    • Ensure desired categories are enabled

  2. Check device settings:

    • Verify notifications are allowed for BeMoreKinky
    • Check notification style (banner, alert, etc.)

  3. Check device modes:

    • Disable Do Not Disturb
    • Check Focus modes (iOS)

  4. Android-specific:

    • Disable battery optimization for the app
    • Ensure background data is allowed

  5. Reinstall if needed:

    • Uninstall and reinstall the app
    • Re-enable notification permissions

Notifications Delayed

  1. Check internet connectivity
  2. Disable battery saver mode
  3. Allow background app refresh
  4. Some delay is normal under high load

Deep Link Not Working

  1. Ensure you're logged into the correct account
  2. The content may have been deleted
  3. Try navigating manually to the content
