Understanding Play Proposals
What is a Play Proposal?
A play proposal is an invitation to your partner suggesting:
- One or more activities to explore together
- A proposed date and time
- Optional notes or context
- Any special preparations needed
Proposal Lifecycle
Draft → Sent → Pending → Accepted/Rejected → Completed
| Status | Meaning | |--------|---------| | Draft | Saved but not sent to partner | | Sent | Delivered to partner, awaiting response | | Pending | Partner has viewed but not responded | | Accepted | Partner agreed to the proposal | | Rejected | Partner declined the proposal | | Cancelled | You withdrew the proposal | | Completed | The scheduled session has passed | | Superseded | Replaced by a newer proposal |

Common Questions
Q: Can I send a proposal without selecting a specific date?
A: Yes! You can leave the date open-ended or suggest a general timeframe like "this weekend" or "next week."
Q: What happens if neither of us responds to a proposal?
A: Proposals don't expire automatically, but very old pending proposals may be archived. Either partner can cancel an old proposal.
Q: Can I see proposals my partner rejected?
A: Yes, declined proposals appear in your Past section with "Declined" status.
Q: What if we both try to create proposals at the same time?
A: Both proposals will exist independently. You can accept both, accept one and decline the other, or discuss and consolidate.
Q: Can I propose activities my partner hasn't rated yet?
A: Yes, but activities your partner hasn't rated or rated "No" will show a notice. It's best to propose activities from your matched interests.
Q: How do I remove a completed proposal from my history?
A: Past proposals are kept for your records and cannot be deleted individually. They don't affect your proposal limits.
Q: Will my partner see my draft proposals?
A: No. Drafts are completely private until you send them.
Q: Can I set recurring proposals (e.g., every Saturday)?
A: Currently, each proposal is one-time. You can use templates to quickly create similar proposals. Recurring proposals may be added in future updates.
Troubleshooting
Proposal Not Sending
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure you have proposals remaining (free users)
- Verify you have an active partner connection
- Try saving as draft and sending later
Partner Didn't Receive Notification
- Ask them to open the app and check the Play tab directly
- Verify their notification settings are enabled
- Check if their app needs updating
Can't Select Certain Activities
Some activities may be unavailable because:
- They're premium-only (upgrade to access)
- They require partner sharing to be enabled
- There's a temporary loading issue (refresh and try again)
Proposal Stuck in "Pending"
Your partner may not have:
- Seen the notification
- Had time to respond
- Made a decision yet
Consider reaching out directly to discuss. You can also cancel and create a new proposal if needed.
