What is the Spin Wheel?

The Spin Wheel is a customizable spinner that:

  • Randomly selects from items you've added
  • Can be used for punishments, rewards, or both
  • Adds playful unpredictability to your dynamic
  • Tracks spin history

Setting Up Your Wheel

Minimum Requirements

To spin the wheel, you need:

  • At least 4 items total
  • Items can be all punishments, all rewards, or a mix

Adding Items

  1. Go to Labs > Punishment/Rewards Wheel
  2. Tap Manage Items or the gear icon
  3. Tap Add Item
  4. Enter the item details:
    • Name - What the item is
    • Type - Punishment or Reward
    • Description (optional) - Additional details
  5. Save the item

Punishments:

  • 10 minutes of corner time
  • Write lines
  • Denied dessert
  • Extra chores

Rewards:

  • Choose the movie tonight
  • 15-minute massage
  • Sleep in tomorrow
  • Favorite meal for dinner

Quick Setup with Templates

Don't want to create items from scratch?

  1. Tap Use Template
  2. Browse available template packs
  3. Preview template items
  4. Select a template to import
  5. Items are added to your wheel

Template Categories

Templates are organized by theme:

  • Mild punishments
  • Playful rewards
  • Service-oriented items
  • Sensation-based items

Customizing Imported Items

After importing a template:

  • Edit any item to personalize
  • Delete items that don't fit
  • Add your own items
  • Mix and match from multiple templates

Wheel Modes

Punishments Only

Spin shows only punishment items:

  1. Tap Mode selector
  2. Choose Punishments Only
  3. Spin to land on a punishment

Rewards Only

Spin shows only reward items:

  1. Tap Mode selector
  2. Choose Rewards Only
  3. Spin to land on a reward

Mixed Mode

Both punishments and rewards on the wheel:

  1. Tap Mode selector
  2. Choose Mixed
  3. Spin for either outcome
  4. Adds extra unpredictability

Spinning the Wheel

How to Spin

  1. Ensure you have at least 4 items
  2. Select your desired mode
  3. Tap the Spin button
  4. Watch the wheel rotate
  5. Wait for it to stop
  6. View your result!

The Result Modal

When the wheel stops:

  • Result is displayed in a modal
  • Shows the selected item name
  • Shows item description (if any)
  • Option to spin again
  • Option to close

Spin Dynamics

  • Wheel spin is random
  • Each item has equal probability
  • Previous spins don't affect future spins
  • Truly random selection

Managing Items

Editing Items

  1. Go to Manage Items
  2. Find the item to edit
  3. Tap the edit icon
  4. Make changes
  5. Save

Deleting Items

  1. Go to Manage Items
  2. Find the item to delete
  3. Tap the delete icon
  4. Confirm deletion

Note: Maintain at least 4 items to keep spinning.

Viewing All Items

The item management screen shows:

  • All items organized by type
  • Punishment count and reward count
  • Easy add/edit/delete access

Tracking Past Spins

The wheel records your spin history:

  • What result was selected
  • When the spin occurred
  • Spin mode used

Viewing History

  1. Tap History on the wheel screen
  2. See chronological list of spins
  3. View patterns and frequency

Free users can:

  • Add up to X punishments

Q: Is the wheel truly random?

A: Yes. Each spin is randomly determined with equal probability for all visible items in the current mode.

Q: Can I weight certain items to appear more often?

A: Not currently. All items have equal chance. You could add duplicates of an item to increase its probability.

Q: Can my partner and I share a wheel?

A: The wheel is tied to your account. Partners can each have their own wheel with different items, or one partner can manage the wheel for both.

Q: What if I don't want to do what it lands on?

A: The wheel is for fun! You can always spin again, negotiate, or use the result as a starting point for discussion.

Q: Can I create category-specific wheels?

A: Currently there's one wheel. Use modes (punishments/rewards/mixed) to filter what appears. Multiple wheels may be added in future updates.

Q: Does the wheel work offline?

A: Basic spinning works offline, but history syncing and template downloads require internet.

Q: Can I share my wheel setup with others?

A: There's no direct sharing feature. You could screenshot your item list to share ideas.
