Lovense Gush 2 hands-free vibrating male masturbator review

Rating

4/5

Best for

Solo, partnered, bath, remote

Quick verdict.
Strong buy, with some limitations.

The Lovense Gush 2 is a strong buy if you want a premium, body-safe male stroker for solo use, partnered milking, bath play, or long-distance control. It is easy to clean, fun to use, and much less intimidating than a full sleeve.

Our rating

4/5

I would recommend it for most people looking for a hands-free vibrating male masturbator. I would skip it if your main goal is very intense vibration or long forced-orgasm sessions, because the stimulation is pleasant and focused rather than overwhelming.

Context

Male sex toys are
finally modern.

I'm so glad that male sex toys continue to be more destigmatized. Not long ago, anything at all designed to enhance male pleasure fell under the terrible hammer of toxic masculinity. The user was either a homosexual, sexual deviant, or both. But, now, you can find male strokers, male masturbators, pocket pussies and all sorts of wonderful devices for men.

We see this in our data too, with over 80% of male BeMoreKinky users wanting to have a sex toy used on them, regardless of whether they identify as dominant or submissive.

The Lovense Gush 2 is a great example of the modernization of sex toys for men. I've used many Lovense products in the past (I LOVE combining the Lush and the Feri for public play, especially for dinner dates), so I was really excited when they reached out to ask if I would be interested in reviewing one of their products.

Disclaimer: They sent me the Gush 2 for free, so I'm almost certainly biased. However, no money exchanged hands, and I want this to be as impartial as possible. We've used it about ten times over the past couple of weeks. I really like this toy, but there are aspects that I hope they improve in the next version.

Product basics

What is the
Lovense Gush 2?

The Lovense Gush 2 is a hands-free vibrating male masturbator. Unlike a full sleeve or pocket pussy, it wraps around the head or shaft rather than enclosing the whole penis, which makes it easier to use for stroking, edging, remote control, and partnered play.

That also means you should think of this Gush toy as focused stimulation rather than as a fake-vagina-style masturbator. It can be used as a stroker, but its real strength is the combination of pressure, vibration, and the fact that a partner can control it without needing to keep their hand on you the whole time.

Waterproofing

Build quality and
bath play.

Overall, the quality is great. The body-safe silicone is soft to the touch and it feels tough. As someone who buys a lot of toys of various quality levels, this is a premium product.

I also appreciate that it's completely waterproof. It was a lot of fun to use in the bath.

Hands-free fit

Is it actually
hands-free?

When picking a male masturbator, the hands-free part is critical. Without lube, this thing isn't going anywhere, and I really appreciated how its flaps neatly wrap around and stays in place.

However, with lube, it will slide off. For that reason, they provide rubber straps that you can use to wrap it tightly around yourself. These straps are based on holes that you "clip in" rather than a stretchy band. This is honestly better than previous versions (which may have caused circulation issues), but it's a pain to use while it's on, so strap in while the machine isn't vibrating!

While this works great, it's slightly disappointing that they're not integrated into the device itself. The reason that I don't have a photo of them is that I lost them after my third use!

Now, when we used it with a condom, it stuck on even tighter than with the straps. It was a delicious addition to a humiliation session.

Intensity

Vibration strength:
pleasant, not brutal.

I'd describe the vibrations as pleasant but not overwhelming. If held towards the tip, it will definitely induce an orgasm in a short amount of time. However, it's not strong enough to induce forced repeated orgasms that you might want as part of an extended milking session.

You can customize the patterns in the Lovense app, but this is the set of default vibrations that come via the buttons.

Remote control

Lovense app
and long-distance play.

The Lovense Remote app works well. I have a lot of experience using the app for their insertable products, either for tease & denial sessions, or for public play. The app worked well with the Gush 2 as well. You can set up custom vibration patterns, sync it up with music, or control it over video chat.

I'll be entirely honest, this wasn't something we felt a great need to use for this specific toy. Most regularly, we skipped up to the third level of vibration or just used the default settings. When we were trying to do a denial or edging session, we moved it to the very base of the shaft so that it felt wonderful, but purposefully difficult to finish.

However, if I was in a long distance relationship, this app-controlled male stroker is something that would be a wonderful way to feel your partner's touch from a distance.

Use notes

Tips for maximising
pleasure.

While being tied up and milked is always a pure joy, this works as a proper stroker, but you must include lots of lube.

We also had a lot of fun combining this with anal toys, especially anal vibrators and thrusting dildos. Add in some ropes and restraints, and it's a good time for everyone.

Lovense Gush vs Gush 2:
should you upgrade?

The biggest practical change is the fit. The original Gush uses elastic silicone bands that you have to stretch into place. The Gush 2 uses adjustable silicone straps with button holes, which is much closer to what I wanted from this toy in the first place. That matters because the whole point of a hands-free male masturbator is that it should stay put without constant fussing.

The Gush 2 is also larger and heavier. The other real change is stimulation. Both models work with the Lovense Remote app, both have three steady levels, both are IPX7 waterproof, and both use magnetic charging. The Gush 2 adds oscillation as part of the sensation profile, with Lovense listing 7,500 vibrations per minute and 4,300 oscillations per minute for the newer model. That tracks with my experience: the Gush 2 feels more like focused, buzzy glans and frenulum stimulation than a full-shaft stroker.

So: if you already own the original Gush and it fits you comfortably, I would not call the Gush 2 an automatic upgrade. If the original slips, feels fiddly, or you want the newer oscillating sensation, the Gush 2 is the more refined version. If you are buying your first Lovense Gush, I would start with the Gush 2 rather than hunting for the older model.

Is the Lovense Gush 2
worth it?

If you want a well-built, body-safe stroker that handles bath play, partnered scenes, and remote app control, the Gush 2 is worth it.

If your kink is forced repeated orgasms and long milking sessions, the vibrations will probably leave you wanting more power.

Despite the fact that I own 100s of sex toys, I've found myself reaching for this more and more over the past weeks. It requires no set-up, it's much easier to clean than a fleshlight or pocket pussy, and it feels great. I expect that I'll continue to use it.

Lovense Gush 2
FAQs.

Is the Lovense Gush 2 waterproof?+

Yes, fully waterproof. I used it in the bath without any issues.

Is the Gush 2 a sex toy or a male masturbator?+

Both. It is a vibrating Gush sex toy designed for penis stimulation, and it works as a hands-free male masturbator when you position it well and use the straps or a condom for extra grip.

Does the Gush 2 work with the Lovense app?+

Yes. It pairs with the Lovense Remote app, where you can customise vibration patterns and hand control over to a partner for long-distance play.

Can you use the Lovense Gush 2 without the app?+

Yes. You can use the buttons on the toy to cycle through the default vibration settings, which is what we did most of the time. The app is more useful for custom patterns, music sync, video chat, and long-distance control.

Is the Gush 2 hands-free?+

Without lube, it grips well enough to stay put on its own. Once you add lube, you'll need the included rubber straps to keep it in place.

How strong are the vibrations on the Gush 2?+

Pleasant and moderate. Tip-focused enough to induce an orgasm in a short amount of time, but not strong enough to force the repeated orgasms you might want in an extended milking session.

Does the Lovense Gush 2 hurt?+

It didn't hurt me, but I can see how it could feel too intense if you clamp it down too tightly, use too little lube, or keep it pressed on the same sensitive spot for too long. Start gently, move it around, and stop if anything feels pinchy, numb, or sore rather than deliciously frustrating.

How do you clean the Lovense Gush 2?+

Because the toy is waterproof and open-flap rather than a deep sleeve, cleaning is straightforward. Rinse it with warm water, use mild soap or toy cleaner on the silicone, rinse again, and let it dry fully before storing or charging it.

Is the Lovense Gush 2 worth the price?+

It sits in premium stroker territory and the build quality matches that. If you want a hands-free, app-controlled stroker for solo, partnered, or long-distance play, it's a strong buy.
