Pet Play Contract Contract

An Owner/Pet agreement covering pet space, commands, gear, and training protocols.

A pet play contract establishes the Owner and pet dynamic with the structure it deserves, covering everything from pet space management and species-specific protocols to command training, gear provisions, and care responsibilities. Whether your pet identifies as a kitten, puppy, pony, or something else entirely, this template adapts to the specific behaviours, sounds, and rituals that define their animal self.

The contract includes sections for entering and exiting pet space safely, trained commands (sit, stay, come, fetch, and tricks), gear requirements including collars, leashes, tails, ears, and feeding bowls, and a training schedule that allows Owner to build the pet's repertoire over time. There are also provisions for pet care basics (hydration, comfort breaks, and emotional check-ins) because good ownership means looking after your pet properly.

This pet play contract template works for casual weekend play, dedicated training programmes, and full-time Owner/pet dynamics alike. It gives both partners a clear framework so the pet can let go completely, knowing that Owner has everything handled.

Pet Play Agreement

Between ________ (Owner) and ________ (kitten)

This contract is a personal agreement built on trust. It is not legally binding. Either party may withdraw consent at any time.

1.Purpose & Preamble

This Pet Play Agreement establishes the terms of a consensual Owner and pet dynamic built on affection, play, trust, and mutual delight. The pet surrenders her human concerns and responsibilities, temporarily and consensually, to inhabit a simpler, freer headspace guided by her Owner's loving authority. The Owner accepts the duty of caring for His pet: feeding, playing, training, comforting, and keeping her safe. This dynamic may be full-time within the home or limited to designated scenes, as configured below. Both parties understand that pet space is a form of subspace that requires the same respect, aftercare, and safety awareness as any other power exchange. Consent is ongoing and either party may pause or end the dynamic at any time.

2.Roles & Responsibilities

Owner's responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the pet at all times.
  • Learn and recognise the signs of deep pet space, distress, and the need for exit.
  • Ensure the pet's physical needs are met: hydration, nutrition, bathroom breaks, rest.
  • Train the pet with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as the primary tool.
  • Administer correction fairly and gently. Never strike the pet in anger.
  • Manage the transition into and out of pet space with care and attentiveness.
  • Provide aftercare tailored to the depth and intensity of the pet-space session.
  • Respect the pet's limits and safeword absolutely, whether she is verbal or non-verbal at the time.

kitten's responsibilities

  • Embrace the pet role with enthusiasm, playfulness, and genuine presence.
  • Use the safeword system immediately when needed. The non-verbal signal is especially important during deep non-verbal pet space.
  • Communicate before a session about physical state, mood, and any concerns.
  • Maintain the agreed pet gear in clean, good condition.
  • Follow trained commands and respond to the Owner's direction.
  • Signal when transitioning into deeper pet space so the Owner can adjust care.
  • Participate in aftercare actively, reporting how she feels and what she needs.

4.Limits & Boundaries

Hard limits

All hard limits have been negotiated and documented separately. They are absolute. No in-character "bad pet" framing overrides a hard limit.

Soft limits

Soft limits are explored with advance discussion and in-the-moment check-ins. The Owner introduces soft-limit activities gradually and celebrates the pet's courage in trying new things.

Health disclosures

Both parties have disclosed all relevant medical information, including knee and joint conditions (critical for crawling), allergies, and mental-health considerations. The pet reports any new physical discomfort promptly.

5.Safewords & Signals

Verbal

Red / Yellow / Green traffic light system

Non-verbal

Dropping a held object (keys or ball) signals full stop

Notes

Safewords are honoured immediately. During non-verbal pet space, the non-verbal signal is the primary safeword mechanism. The Owner checks in regularly by offering the held object and gauging the pet's response. If the pet cannot communicate clearly, the Owner pauses the scene and initiates exit protocol.

6.Rules & Protocols

  1. 1.When entering pet space at home, the pet moves on all fours unless the Owner gives permission to stand (e.g., for safety on stairs).
  2. 2.During deep pet space, human speech is replaced with species-appropriate vocalisations: meows, purrs, hisses, chirps. Nods and head shakes are used for yes/no.
  3. 3.The pet eats from her pet bowl during designated pet-space meals. The Owner prepares the food and ensures it is appropriate and comfortable to eat without utensils.
  4. 4.The pet sleeps at the foot of the Owner's bed on her designated pet bed unless invited into the Owner's bed as a reward.
  5. 5.The pet responds to her pet name during pet space and to her human name at all other times.
  6. 6.The pet greets the Owner at the door when He arrives home, nuzzling against His legs and purring.
  7. 7.The pet does not climb on furniture without permission. She sits on her designated cushion or mat.
  8. 8.Grooming sessions are accepted with patience and good behaviour: brushing, petting, and inspection.
  9. 9.The pet practices commands daily for five to ten minutes to maintain training.
  10. 10.The pet wears her collar whenever in pet space and removes it only during exit protocol or for hygiene.

Triggers

Entering pet space is triggered by the ritual of putting on the clip-on ears and collar. The Owner fastens the collar, clips on the ears, and says the pet's pet name. The pet sinks into headspace, beginning to move and vocalise as her pet self.

Exit protocol

The Owner removes the ears first, then unfastens the collar. He uses her human name, offers a warm drink, wraps her in a blanket, and speaks in calm, adult tones. A brief grounding conversation follows: "You're [human name]. You're in the living room. It's [day and time]." The transition is unhurried.

8.Commands

  • Sit Pretty: Kneel upright on both knees, back straight, hands curled in "paw" position at chest height, head tilted slightly. Hold until released.
  • Paws Up: From sitting position, lift both "paws" (hands in curled position) to the Owner's offered hand or knee. Used for greeting and showing affection.
  • Crawl: Move forward on hands and knees at a controlled pace. Used for directed movement. The pet looks to the Owner for directional cues.
  • Come: The pet moves immediately to the Owner's side, sits at His feet, and looks up attentively. Responds to name or a finger snap.
  • Stay: The pet freezes in current position and holds until the Owner returns or releases with "Okay" or "Free."
  • Show Kitty: The pet strikes a playful, displayful pose chosen by the Owner. May involve rolling onto back, stretching out, or presenting. Context-dependent.
  • Groom: The pet sits still and relaxed while the Owner brushes, pets, adjusts gear, or inspects. The pet purrs and leans into touch.

9.Punishments & Consequences

  • A firm "No" and a light tap on the nose with one finger: the classic pet correction, used for minor infractions.
  • Time-out in the kennel or designated quiet spot for 5 to 15 minutes.
  • Spray bottle: a light mist of water for persistent naughty behaviour (used sparingly and playfully).
  • Removal of a favourite toy for one session.
  • Shortened play session: the pet is put to bed early.
  • The Owner ignores the pet for 5 minutes (turns His back, does not respond to nuzzles). Used rarely and only for attention-seeking misbehaviour.
  • Extra training drills: the pet repeats the failed command ten times correctly.

10.Rewards

  • Head scratches, chin rubs, and belly rubs with enthusiastic verbal praise: "Good kitten! Such a good girl!"
  • A special treat: the pet's favourite snack served from the Owner's hand.
  • A new toy: feather wand, ball, crinkle toy, or laser pointer play session.
  • Sleeping in the Owner's bed, curled up beside Him.
  • Extended play session with the Owner's undivided attention.
  • A "catnip evening": the pet's choice of pampering: brushing, warm lap time, massage.
  • A new piece of pet gear: ears, collar charm, or a special cushion.
  • Being shown off (with consent) at a pet-play munch or community event.

11.Aftercare

Physical

Warm blanket, water, snack, joint check (especially knees, wrists, and neck after crawling), gentle stretching assisted by the Owner. Physical closeness: being held, petted, and comforted.

Emotional

Transition from pet names to human name. Soft, reassuring conversation in normal adult tones. Validation that the pet space was beautiful and valued. Space to share any emotions that arose during the scene.

Check-in schedule

Immediate aftercare after every pet-space session. Text check-in the following morning. Weekly human-mode conversation about the dynamic every Sunday.

12.Privacy & Confidentiality

Confidentiality

The pet-play dynamic is shared only with people both parties agree upon. No details of sessions are shared externally.

Media policy

Photos and videos of pet space require advance mutual consent. Media is stored encrypted and deleted within 72 hours of termination.

Anti-outing

Neither party will reveal the other's involvement in pet play or BDSM to any third party. Permanent obligation.

13.Termination

Either party may end this agreement at any time. Upon termination: all pet space ceases; gear is returned to its owner or disposition is agreed; media is deleted within 72 hours; a closure conversation takes place within one week; privacy obligations remain permanent.
